Founded in 2004 by Fitness Trainer & Running Coach, Michael Merlino, In Flight Running offers the Greater Houston Texas area both group and one on one run coaching programs and services. We also offer online remote coaching to runners worldwide.  Our programs welcome runners of all ages, skill levels and paces who want to improve with the sport or train for any race distance from the 5K to Ultra Marathon.  Group training runs and workouts are held in a non-intimidating environment for beginners yet challenging enough for the most experienced runner. Whether you are learning the sport of running for the very first time or shooting for that elusive Boston qualifying time, we can help “take your running to new heights” with professional coaching and training programs that minimize your risk of injury and get great results.

In Flight Running takes a holistic approach to running by including coaching, advice, seminars, webinars and workshops on running tactics, strength training, cross training, flexibility, injury prevention, nutrition and race strategies.  Friendly and engaging coaches & staff, full fluid support during every Saturday group long run, a wide variety of over 300 Houston & Southwest Texas area running routes and fun trail running road trips are just a few reasons Houston area runners love to train with our team.

Programs are available to prepare runners for the 5K to Ultra Marathon distance with online training schedules provided to keep our athletes accountable and on track. Training schedules for all members are also accessible via a smartphone app which emails out daily reminders to let each runner know what is on the schedule for the next 2 rolling days.

Both a 13 week Spring Season and 36 week Prime Season are offered for year-round training.  Bundle Spring & Prime seasons for our best value Year Pass Option for an entire year of run coaching and training at a great price.

Weekly member training runs include Tuesday morning and evening interval training (track and hill workouts) options to improve running form, efficiency, and speed.  Saturday morning, longer endurance runs are fully supported with ice cold water and Gatorade every 2 – 2.5 miles along each route.
