"Excel" Interval Training
Hills & Speed Weekly

This program offers all the interval training you can stand. Both a hill training workout and speed workout are included on Mondays and Wednesday each week for 24 weeks. Great for pure short distance road racers or marathoners or half marathoners preparing for the Houston Marathon, Half Marathon or other fall and winter long distance races. This program can be purchased separately or is included in our "Excel" marathon & half marathon program. 12 weeks of hills or track can also be purchased separately (scroll down for those options). Hill Interval Training

US Marathon Olympic Gold medalist, Frank Shorter, once said that hill training is "speed work in disguise" . In our opinion hill training is the missing link that most runners need to take their running to a whole new level. Mimicking hilly terrain during training physically and mentally prepares runners for what they may face on the race course and can help improve race times from the 5K to marathon distance and beyond. Speed Interval Training

Do you have the need for speed? Who doesn't and honestly the only way you will run faster is to practice running faster in a controlled environment. Improved times with various interval distances on a 400 meter track improves turnover, form, power and can really help bring those race times down. In Flight Launches New "PR+" Fine Tuning & Road Racing Training Program
HOUSTON, Texas (February 9, 2010) - In Flight Running, a Houston-based run coaching organization, is offering a new run coaching program called “PR+.” The purpose of the 12 week, spring program is to help Houston area runners improve their personal best on race times at distances ranging from the 5K to half marathon. On the heels of the 38th running of the Houston Marathon and Half Marathon in January, the program will focus on reducing weekly running mileage and using hill and speed interval workouts, running drills and core body strengthening to improve running economy, form, technique and speed. Dietitian, Catherine Kruppa, Joins In Flight Running Advisory Board
