Hill Training
10 Week Season

US Marathon Olympic Gold medalist, Frank Shorter, once said that hill training is "speed work in disguise" . In our opinion hill training is the missing link that most runners need to take their running to a whole new level. Mimicking hilly terrain during training physically and mentally prepares runners for what they may face on the race course and can help improve race times from the 5K to marathon distance and beyond. Do you have the need for speed? Who doesn't and honestly the only way you will run faster is to practice running faster in a controlled environment. Improved times with various interval distances on a 400 meter track improves turnover, form, power and can really help bring those race times down. 2008-09 Marathons & Half Marathons
Training Schedules Available For The Following Races


Here is a list of the major marathon and half marathon training schedules to choose from that will be available to our members for our 2008-09 season. If you are interested in any of these popular races we recommend registering as soon as possible as most sell out and many are already approaching registration capacity. Houston Marathon & Half Marathon registration is now open so jump on-line and sign up asap. We predict a third straight sell out this year even with the recent race cap increase from 17,000 to 18,000 total participants (marathon & half marathon combined). Races highlighted in green are organized In Flight Running travel trips where runners are invited to take the show on the road with us and travel to a race destination. All races below are linked to the official race site so you can check out each race, register on-line and make travel plans. If you have an off the menu race schedule request we can usually accomodate you.
