Most long runs originate from our meeting place
inside Memorial Park. We meet in the parking lot
adjacent to the softball fields in the northeast
corner of the park close to the Westcott Drive entrance
to the park. On some weeks we mix it up and meet
at other locations like Hermann Park, the Houston
Heights, Terry Hershey Park and other city parks
that have adjacent running trail access. A few times
each season we plan long run road trips to Galveston,
Seabrook/Kemah Running Trails and Huntsville State
Park to vary the terrain a bit in a more scenic
setting.

and Shepard Drive facing Buffalo Bayou across the
street from St. Thomas High School.

During our 12 week speed training season we alternate between a track workout at the Lamar High School track and the Memorial outer trail for speed play workouts. Lamar High School is located inside the 610 Loop
close to the intersection of Eastside Drive and Alabama.

During our 12 week speed training season we alternate between a track workout at the Lamar High School track and the Memorial outer trail for speed play workouts. Memorial Park is the flagship running location for Houston runners located off of Interstate I10 and the Westcott/Washington exit. The group meets in front of the asphalt running track across from the tennis center. Workouts are run on the new outer crushed granite trail. We have found that alternating workouts between a standard 400 meter track and softer ground minimizes injury, adds variety and allows us to create an entirely different type of speed workout that is both fun and challenging.

change at the store
and grab a mid week
member run. Fluids are provided
at the beginning and
end of mid week runs
but we do recommend
running with a hydration
belt or carrying a bottle of fluids with you during hot and humid days.
